Die sogenannte »Kantkrise« Heinrich von Kleists: Die sogenannte Kantkrise Heinrich von Kleists ist ein seit 200 Jahren ungelöstes Problem der Kleist-Forschung, das zwar noch immer eines der zentralen Themenbereiche der Forschung darstellt, jedoch bis heute nicht befriedigend gelöst werden konnte. Dieser Umstand veranlaßte die Verfasserin dazu, einen neuen Blick auf die Problemlage der sogenannten Kantkrise zu erproben. Statt also in Form einer minutiösen Spurensuche dasjenige Werk zu suchen, dessen Kenntnis Kleist in eine individuelle Krise gestürzt haben könnte, wird seine Krise in ihrer exemplarischen Zeugnishaftigkeit als nur ein Symp tom der allgemeinen Krisenzeit des Epochenumbruchs um verstanden. Mit Kant und Kleist, der infolge und aufgrund der sogenannten Kantkrise Dichter geworden ist, werden zwei Zeit genossen dieser Epochen schwelle betrachtet, die in mehrfacher Hinsicht als Limesfiguren bezeichnet werden können. Die vorliegende literaturwissenschaftliche Arbeit mit philosophischem Seitenblick untersucht sowohl Kants als auch (und insbesondere) Kleists Werk als Versuchsfelder, auf denen sie Lösungsmöglichkeiten der Krise durch gespielt haben. Die in dieser Untersuchung eingenommene Perspektive vermag nicht zuletzt zwischen den diametralen Positionen der Kantkrisen -Forschung zu vermitteln und überdies ein Kompendium zu schaffen, das die vergangenen 200 Jahre Forschungsgeschichte zusammenhängend und übersichtlich darstellt.
