Hannah Collins: In kreativer Zusammenarbeit mit dem Katalanischen Starkoch Ferran Adrià hat Hannah Collins ( in London) ein fotografisches Tableau entworfen, das feinste Speisen aus verschiedenen Kulturen vorstellt und ihrer Herkunft nachgeht. Die Künstlerin begibt sich auf eine Spurensuche an die Ursprungsorte von rund 30 Lebensmitteln und Zutaten, die Ferran Adriá in seiner berühmten Küche elBulli verwendet und für das gemeinsame Projekt in einer exklusiven Auswahl zusammengestellt hat. Die Bilder zeigen die Landschaften des Anbaus und die physischen Beschaffenheiten der jeweiligen Lebensmittel und begleiten diese während der Transformation zum Produkt und auf ihren Reisen durch die weitere Verarbeitung und regionale Zubereitung. Vom essbaren Rosenblatt bis zur delikaten Seeanemone vermittelt die Publikation in sinnlichen Aufnahmen und anhand lebhaft erzählender Texte einen Eindruck davon, was gegenwärtig als nahrhaft und gesund angesehen wird. The Fragile Feast is born of a creative collaboration between the artist and photographer Hannah Collins ( in London) and Catalan star chef Ferran Adrià, voted as the World s best chef over several years, and offers a scintillating insight into the origins and visceral sensuality of extraordinary food. Collins travelled to the sources of 30 ingredients chosen by Adrià and used in his famous kitchen at elBulli. She offers us a glimpse of the landscape they are born of as well as exploring in detail their physical qualities, history and transformation. From edible roses to sea anemones, we are offered an insight into the possibilities of what may now be considered nutritious and attractive as we are re-discovering meals that were common centuries ago. Images are accompanied by stories through which we see the transformative powers of Adrià, beautifully offset against the purity of the ingredients he uses.
