Lovely dark wood bureau, handmade in America in the early twentieth century. This rustic piece is a wonderfully compact, space-saving desk that can also serve beautifully as an accent piece in an entryway, dining room, lounge, or hall. Its simple lines and irregular staining carry all the character of an item made by hand for one's own home. There are even still light guidelines visible, where the craftsman measured to attach the different pieces together! Some scuffs and marks commensurate with age. Could easily be adapted to a different look simply by substituting different drawer handles. We had 5 of these all salvaged from one post office and all lovingly restored by us. This is the last piece so don't miss out! They don't come up for sale often. It was produced in the mid 60s from steel. We have completely cleaned the piece and treated it with a mat graphite paste. It retains much of its beautiful original patina with the wear and tear expected on a piece of hardworking industrial furniture. This is a stunning industrial looking Handmade desk with hairpin legs. This desk has been Handmade by bringing 4 separate pieces of wood together for the table top, sanding the wood down and applying a white wash look to the top to really set the desk apart from the rest. At the back of the desk a further darker piece of wood has been attached to stop anything from falling behind. I have used bare steel hairpin legs to bring out the industrial vintage look.
