Indo Mir β 354 x 257 cm β "XL β Oriental carpet in
This is a hand-knotted Mir rug, made of durable, natural materials. Imperfections in the patterns and shape make this carpet unique and emphasise its authentic and traditional character. Mir carpets are knotted in the mountainous area in and around Arak, in western Iran.Characteristic for a Mir is the contemporary design, called Boteh or Paisley pattern, a drop-shape with the tip pointing in one direction. A Mir often has a continuous pattern, but some have a medallion and corner patterns. Mir carpets are durable rugs made of wool on a cotton warp (bobbin thread), often they are thick, full carpets with a remarkably high durability.Later on, Mir carpets were also made in India, then they are called oriental rugs. This is a used carpet, these carpets often become more beautiful and richer in character due to the natural ageing process.Measurements:Approx. 354 x 257 cm.Main colour:Mustard green.Accent colours:Brick, cream, green and blue shades.Specifications: Lots of nap; stunning rich gloss; remarkable colour.Signs of wear:Worn spots. Please view the photos for your own impression. This lot will be shipped by registered post with Track & Trace.X391 Read More
