For sale is this absolutely incredible 17th/18th century coffer. It's in amazing antique condition with the most beautiful genuine patina. I've cleaned the inside and given the outside a fresh coat of wax giving it a beautiful tactile finish. The condition is extremely good for its age. It has a very small amount of dormant worm holes at the back which are almost un noticeable. All in all its an amazing piece great condition and clean inside. Dimensions are Width 105 Depth 56 Height 64 all cms. Vintage Canvas Trunk Steamer Chest Coffee Table Blanket Box Display Shop Fitting Fabulous vintage trunk which dates to the early twentieth century, which would have originally served as a travel/steamer chest. The trunk is constructed of wood and canvas and is reinforced with riveted bands and shaped metal corner caps. The lid is hinged in three places for strength and has two side locks to the front and a folding central catch. Also at the front is a black swing handle. As with most trunks of this era the inside has been lined with paper. (There is also an old clothing label mysteriously adhered to the inside of the lid, which we have left as part of its history.) The trunk displays the usual signs of age and use, which is part of its vintage character. There is some damage to the wooden trims inside the trunk, and one section is missing, but this does not impede its structural integrity and could be repaired or removed as suits. The trunk is large and capacious, perfect for stowing things away. It could also be used as a blanket box, as a box at the foot of a bed for storing clothes or bedding and, of course, as a coffee/wine table.
