Welcome to Passion d'Orient: This is a Heriz carpet: they are made of high-quality wool that makes them resistant and very suitable for public spaces and dining rooms, where they are subject to wear more frequently. These oriental carpets are hand knotted in north-eastern Iran and often feature large, central geometric roundels. ** Heriz carpets are considered to be among the most beautiful plain carpets in the whole of Iran. ** Heriz is a city located in the north-eastern region of Iran, near the city of Tabriz, and it is its proximity to this important carpet production centre that has influenced, particularly since the early 19th century, local weavers, giving rise to these characteristic carpets. They generally exhibit great durability and strength, with a fairly large knot and are, by far, among the most resistant carpets in Persia. The designs originate from the traditional medallion patterns of the neighbouring city of Tabriz, but are very stylised and reinterpreted in a style and a colour theme that are completely different from the latter. Heriz roundels have stylised star shapes that can extend almost to the edge of the carpets. The field is decorated with stems that bend at right angles to connect serrated leaves and rosettes.Guaranteed 100% Hand-knotted Approximate thickness: 8-10 mm Age: circa (approx. 120 years old)Origin: Iran Pile: Wool Warp: Cotton Density of the knots: approx. knots/m2 Remarks: 100% natural colours - Superior quality - Exceptional colours - slight wearComes with its certificate of authenticityThis carpet was ecologically hand cleaned using traditional methods, and it can be used right away.Fast and secure shipping via GLS/UPS.
