My boyfriend is allergic to hamsters so we have had to sell this super cute hamster. Bought 3 weeks ago (approximately 3 month old hamster). I was given this Russian Dwarf Hamster (Kiwi) from owners that did not look after her properly. She is not hand reared but I have been trying to give her as much contact as possible so she gets used to it, she is getting better. Selling our hamster because he doesn't get enough attention. Our 9 year old daughter is terrified of him because he nibbled her palm the first time she held him. I (dad) spent a few weeks taming him and getting him used to me. Littlen tried holding him again after I had tamed him, and he nibbled her again, so that was the last time she held him. He didn't bite her maliciously he was just seeing if she was food. He did the same to me when I first started holding him. However, I don't get time to hold him much anymore, so he's just sat there in his cage all day. Gets cleaned out regularly. Ideally he needs to go to a home that has more time to spend handling and playing with him! Ad ID:
