Nomadic Sarab runner, hand-knotted crafstmanship, N-W Iran.
Typical Sarab runner, the hexagonal medallions and especially the stripes are characteristic features. Knotted from very good highland wool and camel wool in natural non-dyed colour.Very densely and professionally knotted, not fluffy at all, fairly sharp lines. Knotted with high-quality craftsmanship. With abrash, colour differences in the hand-painted wool. Knotted heavily and finely with some thin spots in the edge, but this does not stand out.A small piece has come loose along the edge, but this can easily be fixed with a string of wool and a thick needle. See photo 11. In the edge there is a white background with zurvanist fire symbols, mashaal, and a repeating edge on the outside to ward off evil spirits. Will be shipped registered and insured.
