Half-size acoustic classic - great condition
This beauty has come out of the attic as part of a house clearance before we move. I've been playing it today - for the first time in years - and I was very tempted to hang on to it! I bought it for my kids when they were small but they weren't willing to go through the 'fingertip hardening' that you need for playing a guitar-type instrument. I've had umpteen since I was a kid so it's no big deal to me! And, to be honest, learning on a gut and soft wire stringed classic like this is a hell of a lot easier on the fingers than a high tension wire strung guitar. So this is ideal for the beginner. Not a great volume of sound (because of the small box - so it doesn't project much) but a true neck and a good resonance in the body. The tone, therefore, is pretty good - both bass and treble regions - for a half-size and it's a good deal more versatile than a ghastly ukelele! It's a 'Cordoba MG 102' and is in excellent condition. There's a tiny bit of edge lacquer missing from the back edge - i.e. black rather than shiny black! This can be seen on the photo where the sound hole is toward the bottom of the picture and it's on the back edge level with the bottom of the scratch plate. Looks like a brush error at the factory - hardly noticeable and no big deal. The tuning machines and strings are A1 and it comes with a pristine soft cordura case with carrying handle and one big pocket. Very light weight and approx dimensions of 74cms long and 28cms wide at its widest point by the bridge. Read More
