Gypsy Caravan / Garden Office / Studio

Attractive gypsy caravan in good condition inside and out. Lots of potential for letting or using as a garden feature, studio or office Built on a 19th century dray, one axle is stamped Callow London and the other Whites of Arundel. The chassis is hardwood, probably ash and the wheels are wooden spoked with iron tyres. The upper parts are probably early 20th century, possibly starting as a “living van” (road builder’s accommodation) or a “leisure van” (very early caravan). The previous owner fitted the interior with a replica of a typical gypsy caravan interior. Outside, there are curved horse shafts, steps, coach lamps, festoon lighting and an electric hook up point. Inside is a pull out double bed with sleeping mat, under-bed cupboard, fireplace with cast iron queenie stove, cupboard, china cabinet, Victorian glass shaded electric lamp and double electric socket. All the upper parts were repainted in Summer and some of the frame replaced where the wood had become soft. The buyer will to arrange transport for van.
