Lovely ’s Guy Rogers Manhattan double sofa bed in great condition. We have just bought this but it was too big to fit in our living room, so very reluctantly having to sell on. In great condition. These usually sell for much more than this, but we need to make space as soon as possible.

Iconic Guy Rogers, s Manhattan Sofa Bed

I am selling this fantastic sofa bed because I have downsized to a smaller house, the offspring have long since fled the nest, and I no longer have a use for it. It was bought new from Siesta Furnishings in Newcastle upon Tyne as part a three piece suite (bit of an old fashioned term!) in when I got married. The chairs, sadly, are longer with us, but the sofa is here in all its retro glory! I have no doubt the Guy Rogers Retro afficianados will know all the technical specifications but for everyone else they are as follows: The sofa is made throughout from hardwood Afromosia and teak. It weighs a ton! It changes to a double bed using a foot lever at the base at the back of the sofa. This mechanism is in perfect working order. The sofa's dimensions are: length: 190 cms, Back to front: 85cms, Height at the back: 80cms, Seat height: 41cms. I would describe the sofa's condition as pristine (see photos) You will see from the renovation document (see photo) that the sofa was completely renovated and renewed - webbing, studs, cushion inners, covers, frame - in by PEC of Amble, one of Northumberland's best upholstery firms, at considerable cost (over £). It has been little used since then. The covers which zip off, and the two side cushions, are made in a Colefax and Fowler upholstery fabric. To say that this iconic sofa bed is a bargain must be the understatement of the year. Manufactured in as part of his Manhattan range and of the excellent quality expected from this designer. These are now highly desirable. Two stunning chairs featuring teak arms and solid teak tapering legs. The chairs recline to three positions. One is a high back and one is a standard height.
