Guy Rodgers Recliner
A Guy Rogers Manhattan reclining chair in excellent condition. It was professionally re-upholstered about a year ago. When upholstered it had all new foam and new Pirelli webbing. The work was carried out professionally to a very high standard. The fabric is Scottish Tweed, resplendent in charcoal with a white fleck its a very attractive piece. There are no marks or stains on the fabric what so ever. The teak is in excellent condition with no visible blemishes. The wood was re-oiled with teak oil when it was re-upholstered. The chair was stamped with 'Feb ' but this is hardly visible now. It is in full working order. The 'Manhattan' range is considered to be one of Guy Rogers' best, strongly influenced by the Danish designs. These chairs were handmade in Liverpool, England, and designed by Eric Pamphilon (Director of Design at Guy Rogers) and George Fejer. Together they produced some amazing furniture designs for Harold Dykes and family, the owners of 'Guy Rogers', who retailed almost exclusively through Heals London stores. Manufactured in as part of his Manhattan range and of the excellent quality expected from this designer. Read More
