GP 14 Sailing Dinghy

The GP 14 is a very stable boat and is ideal for those learning to sail, but can also be enjoyed by more experienced sailors. This boat comes on a combi-trailer. It has a winch fitted to the road trailer, very useful for pulling the boat and launching trolley up a steep slipway. The trailer and trolley have been refurbished and the road trailer has been fitted with new wheel bearings and has a spare wheel and tyre. It comes complete with a towing cover, an old but serviceable boom-up cover, Jib, Main, Genoa and Spinnaker There are also two lifejackets and sundries like anchor, paddles and spare new sheets for the running rigging. A great wee starter boat. It's old but solid, running rigging replaced . My boy and I sailed it for a year and have now moved up a level. Ideal for dipping the toe in the water. Floor boards replaced in . Mainsail and Jib usable for cruising and learning to sail. Comes with a good road base trailer and launching trolley and an excellent mast down or up cover as seen in the pics.

I have for sale the family GP14 sailing dinghy that we've owned for about 15 years although not sailed it within the last couple. It has a fibreglass hull & deck and although being circa 's is in a very good and useable condition. It is being sold complete on a road going Snipe trailer, separate launch trolley, mast-down cover, mast-up cover and spinnaker sail. Eye-catching wooden boat in good repair for age. The GP14 class has been around since the late 's, and is equally at home on inland or sheltered coastal waters. GP stands for General Purpose, and that's exactly what they are. Hull paint and deck varnish in sound condition, with some variation in varnish colour, and internal varnish and raised floor non-slip deck paint is very serviceable. The boat is ready to use and enjoy for the season. Aluminium mast and boom, with kicker and horse mainsheet. Standing and running rigging in good order. Lifting wooden centreboard and rudder with aluminium tiller and extension. There are three mainsails, one with a non matching number is still pretty stiff and crinkly, with a jib and a genoa in similar condition. The other two are nothing to write home about, although one, again with a non matching number has 2 sets of reefing points and a flotation envelope at the head. I have not tried to use it There is a spinnaker, with yet another number, and pole, although the control lines and blocks etc are not fitted, and may not all be there. For storage protection an aged mast-up boat cover in working condition is included, with a small amount of damage around the rudder pintle. The no braked combination trailer and launching trolley is definitely not new, but the tyres and wheel bearings are in good condition, and the road axles are on isolastic type suspension units. The steel chassis are galvanised, and show no sign of corrosion. There is no safety chain/cable, so you may like to fashion your own, and there is no lighting board. There are 2 elderly life-jackets (not buoyancy aids), which can be manually inflated, or gas operated, but one has no CO2 cartridge, but are easy to obtain and replace. I am looking for day care in Tiverton for my dog. Monday to Friday term time only. Ideally would like to drop him off at 7.15am and pick up at 5.30pm. This might suit retired person who already has own dog? Would pay £160 per month for 10 months of the year. This would be a long term commitment and must be someone who loves dogs.
