Mirror with gilded wood frame - Italy - late 20th century
Rectangular mirror in Baroque style, with gilded frame.Fretted on carved solid wood. The first protruding frame has geometrical motifs with leaves. The second frame has four decorations with baroque scrolls (on the upper part there is a shell).Gilded finish with gold leaf or golden paint.Antique bevelled mirror.Origin: Central/Northern Italy.The date is not sure but the style is Baroque. My family has this item (probably purchased from an antique dealer) since . Size: inner frame 32 x 23 cm. Outer frame 55 x 42 cm. Thickness: 4 cm.Weight: 1 kg.Never restored, from a family inheritance.In good condition, with a bit of dirt, a small missing part in the gilding inside the shell (as shown in the photos) and some cracks in the mirror (as visible in the pictures).
