It really is incredibly light but very stable and easily carried around on a full days photo shoot. It has only had very light use and is as new. Exceptionally smooth rotation, positive locking and rapid camera mounting. The graduated base with independent locking facilities permits perfect panoramic photography. The design of the panoramic base permits these ball heads to be used for table top or near ground level work with or without the use of a tripod. This is an offset ballhead, which makes it possible to point more than 90 degrees down. Includes the standard size Gitzo quick release plate. I bought this ballhead with landscape photography in mind but what I did not consider was the weight of all my kit adding up, as I have a fused spine from a road traffic accident and live life in constant pain I have to keep the weight of my camera gear as low as possible. And although this ballhead isn’t heavy there are lighter ones available. So reluctantly I bought another gitzo ballhead which has far less capability than this but it lighter for me to carry. So this ballhead has barely been used which is clearly evident from the photo’s above. The rubber pad that the camera sit’s on on the plate hasn’t even got a single mark on it due to so little use.
