Left to her own devices she loves to run on her exercise wheel, explore and climb - although hedgies are not natural born climbers and she's not very good at the landings! Luna used to be very tame and affectionate, keenly climbing up the bars are the side of her cage to greet us whenever she spotted us coming up the stairs. However, due to lack of time we've had available to spend she's grown more timid over time and now huffs and puffs when woken up. Would love her to find a forever home with somebody who has the time and patience to spend with her to bring her confidence back. She loves live mealworms as a treat - which are pretty much guaranteed to fast track your way to her heart! Sad to sell our pet hedgehog, but we are going away soon and also expecting a new baby and think its best for him to go to someone who can care for him. Male African pygmy hedgehog, 2 years old, chocolate pinto. Comes with everything you need: large cage, wheel, bedding, litter tray and box of bathing sand, sleeping blankets/ pouch, tunnel, food bowl, hideaway, and any left over food. He eats cat kibble and occasional treats (mealworms, veggies). He enjoys going to the park to run around in the grass, and walks around the house sometimes. He naturally wakes up around 9-10pm, but can be woken up during the day for a couple of hours. He is very shy and huffy and spiky with new people, and it can take him weeks to warm up. His needs should be respected, and he will be happy as long as he is able to hide when feeling insecure. He enjoys taking warm shallow baths,and likes having some warm water poured over his back (but not face). We have a new small pet carrier and snuggle bonding bag (to take him out to the shops or on walks) that have only been used twice each, and were bought recently.
