Helping to rehome my mother in laws dog. She is unable to keep him due to ill health and him not getting the attention or excercise he needs. We have tried rescues but no luck. He's a lovely bouncy boy, and he is very good with children although they should be steady on their feet as he doesn't realise how big he is. He has lived with cats but other cats may need introducing to him. He is a typical German Shepherd in that he is very strong on the lead and needs a firm hand to guide him, he is good off lead and he will happily find the biggest stick he can and carry it around all walk. He has been castrated, and has had no medical issues in the past or that we know of. He really is a sweet natured dog, loves to play. He hates fireworks and thunderstorms and just wants to cuddle you when they're going on. He is protective of his house and the people in it. We would like to do a home check on any potential homes as this really is a last resort and he deserves a good home. Ad ID:

Loki is a beautiful, soft loving dog, brilliant with children of all ages, other dogs and cats. Very gentle when taking treats and knows all of his commands. HOWEVER in the 18 months that Loki has been with us, he has been unable to stay alone for more than a short period of time without getting himself into a state psychologically. As a result of this he has been going to a dog sitter whilst my partner was working. A change to her hours makes it near enough impossible to fund and get him to and from the dog sitters every day. Loki will need to be rehomed with a family who will only be leaving him for short periods of time, or anyone who is home most of the day every day looking for a companion (ie someone who is retired.) Loki is fully house trained, is up to date with all his vaccinations, flea and worming treatment and microchipped. He is unneutered but if this was an issue we would happily have him neutered prior to rehoming. We would prefer if we were able to keep in touch with his new owners to ensure that he is happy and healthy. Loki is fantastic off the lead and returns immediately when called.
