Beautiful early 50s Framus archtop / jazz guitar

For sale: this gorgeous 50s jazz / archtop guitar by German make Framus. Elvis played one of these (granted, probably not this one!) I bought it for a touring project and can't afford the luxury of keeping it to be played once a year. I had it set up last year & cosmetically it's in fine shape for it's age. There are a few cracks in the varnish as I've tried to show in the photographs, but it was played live by my American colleague on two 20 date tours, the most recent of which I'm just back from, so I'm guessing it's very playable! ☺️ No electrics. My colleague used a clip on mic that easily fixes to the suspended bridge. All original parts. If you wanted to, I dare say you could source 'new-old' machine heads as I have done for my own 60s Hoyer. Comes in a hard case (not the original one for this guitar). HOYER. Authentic, Vintage HOYER 12 String. In good playing

This HOYER is from the sixties and it plays just as it should do. No Bellying, No Neck Sinking through String Stress. No Bridge lifting. A nice straight Neck. Machine head individual Tuners all working freely, no tension evident. Keeps in pitch. New String fitted 2 months ago, no re-set needed apart from a minimal tweak. There is of course signs of age and superficial deterioration as shown in Picture 6 and some surface cracking in the Laquer. And thats it. It was good enough for Elvis to use (although he had pickup introduced to his) and use on many occasions, in Movies, recording and of course live. This is a guitar of the past with genuine history......search to see. Vintage German Archtop Body

Vintage 60's German made archtop body. I'm not sure of the exact make but it's in fair shape. There's a crack/split near the neck join that you can see in the photos and at some point there has been some paint thinner or some compound that has attached itself to the top side of the body. It should be removable with some patience and delicate work. The good news is that it's a beautiful body with some fantastic figuring on it that will make an excellent guitar once finished. Perfect for your latest project! I am willing to courier this item but I will only send it fully tracked and insured which will be more expensive than normal post but it is the only way I'll ship items.
