Genuine Ex-German Police van, converted to camper - she still has unique service vehicle features such as the original registration painted on the roof, police radio antenna and "elephant ear" indicators. I acquired the vehicle as a non-running project around 3.5 years ago and with the expert help of mechanic friends the van was recommissioned and has been on the road ever since. As a carpenter by trade I built a straightforward interior with newly manufactured door cards throughout and a full width R&R bed with brand new hinges and bed foam from JK. Rear windows are all privacy tinted limo black. This summer I fitted new upholstery on the rear seat/bed and also new waterproof covers on the front seats - the bed has never been slept on since. Thermal window blinds, stove, pans and cool box all included – she really is ready to go. Sony stereo and split charge leisure battery installed. Genuine Westfalia tow bar fitted. Many spares included to go with the van. There are around 129k miles on the clock since manufacture around 26 years ago, in this time the engine and gearbox and most of the mechanical parts have been replaced more than once and as an imported classic I have practically no service history so this is sold as such, test drives and inspections are welcome subject to proof of insurance. Likewise - the exhaust, number plate, wheel bearings and shock should still be in "passing" condition but I consider the price reflects any work that may be needed to be done to correct those issues if required. The mirror has been replaced and a near side spare is included too. The listed corrosion was the offside cab step that has been repaired - along with some offside seam rash that was treated, repaired and resprayed by a body shop not a hobbyist. The rest of the van is incredibly solid for its age - it does have a few minor bumps and scrapes but honestly I felt they added to its character. The near side door lock keyway is seized but I never bothered fixing it as the actual lock works fine and where I park I can only use the "drivers" door anyway as folks park as if it's a UK spec vehicle. It currently has a RHD gear lever fitted which makes practically no difference - a LHD one is included, I'm simply unlikely to have time to fit it due to illness. There are no sirens or blue lights as they were missing before I got the van, my long term plan was to restore them but unfortunately I have to pass it on instead.
