Classic vintage touring bike with period components and more modern improvements, lightweight, attractive, practical and comfy to ride. 24 inch Wheel size 27 x 1 inch Originally ice blue, now stove-enamelled mid-rosso colour by Argos Cycles, Bristol in September (I have the paperwork). Little used since then. Reynolds butted 531 tubing and forks Weinmann centre-pull brakes GB handlebars and stem Seat tube 24 inch Quick-release seat post Liberator anatomic gents' saddle 10-speed gears with down-tube shifters fitted to brazed-on bosses Original Suntour front and rear changers Original Wolber rear wheel Front wheel + spare + spare spokes Tektro front cable hanger Fitted with a set of Flinger plastic mudguards Fitted with rear rack 2 bottle holders Thoroughly maintained. No known issues. A few signs of normal wear and tear, some minor scuffs and scratches. Has given many years of pleasurable riding, and can give many more. I'm selling it because I haven't ridden it for years (I now ride a mountain bike), and lack storage space.

The bike has received much tender loving care over the years and has been kept in its original condition bar the following upgrades: SKS chromoplastic mudguards Shimano spd pedals Front tyre - Continental Gatorskin Rear tyre - Continental Ultrasport Brand new chain, freewheel, brake blocks, brake and gear cables, and rear tyre. The rear wheel was completely rebuilt a year ago. The bike is in perfect working condition. Cosmetically the frame is very good. There are of course chips in the paint work here and there which I have sealed with clear lacquer for protection. There is also a scratch in the seat. Hand-built Claud Butler Majestic touring cycle circa . The original colour was pale gold but I had the frame re-sprayed a number of years ago. The handlebars were also changed from drop to straight for town use. Reynolds 531 tubing. 12-speed Suntour 7 v-luxe gears (comes with a spare brand new set of original gears and levers-I bought these but have never fitted them). The cycle is in good overall roadworthy condition but would benefit from some tender-loving care. Could be restored to its original condition by an enthusiast or collector.

Claud Butler Dalesman 531 Gents Racing Bike

Short Version; Brilliant long Version; This is a traditional ’s Claud Butler Dalesman touring bike with the classic (expensive) lightweight Reynolds 531 ST frame and forks. I stripped this bike right down; rubbed off the old red paint almost back to metal. The frame was then undercoated and again rubbed down; undercoated and again rubbed down and then finally sprayed with a two-pack system. The decals were applied and the frame lacquered with a hint of red flakes. I then re-fitted as many of the original components and where necessary sourced period components and built the bike back up with great care. The details are as follows: 23inch frame with a touring geometry 700x25c Weinmann wheels which are alloy and running great with new tubes and tyres. All the bearing throughout the bike are new embedded on a lot of lithium grease Shimano down tube Shifters controlling 10 gears Suntour front and rear mechanisms Custom alloy chain set Weinmann centre pull brakes with new straddle cables and blocks Original Drop handle bars with easy levers New cables throughout with outer sleeves treated with oil to prevent rust. New handlebar tape and a new matching saddle This bike runs very smoothly and would suit anyone over 5’8inches. Unfurbished, these bikes (if they ever come up for sale) usually sell for about £250. Claud Butler Majestic touring cycle, 25.5" frame, good working order

This is a Claud Butler Majestic from the s: a classic touring bike of its time. This one has a relatively low mileage. The frame is Reynolds 531 and the bike comes with all-original components (Suntour Vx, Super Champion, Weinmann). The paintwork is a little scuffed on the forks, and the saddle has a mark or two, but the bike is otherwise in a pretty good condition. The bike was recently serviced, and is running smoothly.
