Futon sofa-bed base (& 2 futons if wanted)

This substantial (i.e. heavy!) futon sofa-bed base has been with us for 12 years and is still looking good. Converts easily from sofa to bed and we found it comfortable as both! Wooden slats allow the futon to breathe and are replaceable. We still have the instructions in case you ever need to disassemble it (to get through narrow doorways/halls). We also have 2 x 6-layer futons if you want them (but we understand if you don't). One has a black&red oriental cover (pictured), the other has a dark blue cover. The base is 10 inches off the ground before you add the futons. The bed is 83 inches long and approx 55 inches wide (if your space is tight that's how much the futons themselves need to lay flat on the base). Any questions, do please ask! Read More

3 Seater Sofa/ Double Futon Sofa Bed - Black Metal Frame

Chair seats 3 people (4 if small) when converted to a bed, sleeps 2 people comfortably. Chair is used, but sturdy and has lots of life in it. However, I would recommend use in a spare room or for occasional guests rather than for everyday chair to bed conversion. Given the use, the mattress is discoloured but looks very presentable when covered with a throw. See both options in pictures. 2 screws also need replacing. This advert is for a black metal framed sofa bed (futon). When put into the flat position, it makes a full size (6’4 x 4’6) double bed. When put into the upright position, it makes a nice large sofa. In fact, if you have a child sleeping on it, you can leave it in the sofa position and use it as a single bed:-) The frame is black metal and quite simple to operate - just pull out from the wall, lift the two handles along the front edge and it hinges to lie flat. Being metal, it is of course very strong, with lots of support under the mattress. The blue and cream striped mattress/sofa cushion is firm without being too hard, to give a good compromise between sitting and sleeping comfort.
