Knight K10 studio upright - 7 1/4 octaves - fully reconditioned, repolished with 3- year guarantee
The Knight K10 is considered to be one of the best upright pianos ever produced in the United Kingdom, famous for being extremely stable with a rich warm tone and satisfying the more demanding of pianists. This 7 1/4 octave Knight K10 studio upright in a mahogany case is a gem. The K10 is a top of the range piano, endowed with the famous Alfred Knight hammers. Knight is a highly respected British manufacturer, and is the only make of piano in Steinway Hall alongside Steinway's own pianos. Knight continuously innovated with their designs. The keys are made from solid bass wood, selected for strength and lightness. The frames in Knight pianos are built on the girder principle which has twice the strength of frames fitted to the average piano. Knight designers dispense the bar brace in the treble section which claimed to have eliminated the "bad notes" which normally occur on each side of the treble break bar. The bass strings in the K10 are designed to cross the treble strings at a greater angle, so the strings are longer than most other pianos of this height. This extra length allows the Knight K10 to match the tone and volume of bigger upright pianos such as the Yamaha U1, which is why they are a firm favourite of piano teachers, tuners and music institutions. This piano measures 139cm wide by 111 high by 54 deep. It has the full 88 keys (with a top 'C'. It has been lovingly restored, the action reconditioned and the case repolished.
