Northern Iniut for sale/rehoming in Uttoxeter
This is Nook, we've had him for about 5 years now and he's around 6 years old, he was a rescue so we're not entirely sure of his exact age or full history - but he came to us underweight, shaven fur and incredibly nervous. On reading this it may look like this dog has major issues and will present a massive problem. This is not the case at all. He is very clever, affectionate and eager to please. However to rehome with the right people we need to be honest about him, as on meeting him the positive traits of his personality will speak for themself. Unfortunately, we're looking to rehome him as our home environment has changed. He is Northern Inuit (Husky/German Shepherd cross) with a lovely calm personality the majority of the time. He has the playfulness of a Husky when he's out in an open field and he can run, yet the calm patience of a German shepherd in the house. He has sensitive skin and is prone outbreaks of contact dermatitis particularly if he catches fleas. He has quite a high prey drive and will kill rabbits/chickens/rats/birds if the opportunity presents itself, be they wild or domestic so he CANNOT be rehomed with any of these. He is currently living with another small dog and several cats and this has never presented a problem to date. He has not lived with young children and because of this we will not consider anyone who approaches that has children as it would not be fair on either yourselves or Nook to take this chance. He suffers from severe separation anxiety if left alone or without the company of another dog for a prolonged period. He has never destroyed possessions but becomes very traumatised, vocal and will try to escape. He is good on lead, but will rear up when meeting other dogs, off the lead his recall is OK, but he will rush up to other dogs, given his appearance and size can cause concern to strangers. Due to a change in personal circumstances we're looking to rehome him, but it MUST be to the right person with a suitable environment - preferably someone with experience of dogs, particularly the quirks of the Husky breed and all enquiries will be fully discussed to ensure that he goes somewhere where he will be safe and loved as this has been a very difficult and distressing decision for our family.
