Puppy free to a good home in Wigan
We are looking for a new home for woodie. He is a cross Japanese Akita with mastiff. His birthday is November 11th , so he is just over one years old. Woodie is vaccinated but needs his booster in February, he is wormed and flead. Due to warnings Woodies new owners will be asked lots of questions as he is to go to a loving home, he is not to be used for fighting, breeding or baiting. If you are a dog lover and serious about giving him a new home, you should hopefully understand this. Woodie is a lovely tempered dog and has been with us from 8 weeks, he has grown up around 3 cats, another dog and a child under 9. He is still very much a puppy and gets excited, he has lots of energy and likes to play, likes to constantly sniff the cats and wants to play with them continuously, he does as he is told when we are with him, but he does sneak in a sneaky chase if he thinks we are not looking! The main reason that we have made this difficult decision is that our eldest dog is seven and has developed poorly back legs. Woodie just wants to play with him and jumps on his back which he can't do for obvious reasons. Woodie does all basic commands and has a specific toilet area in the garden. He loves to run and play fetch with the ball. Woodie loves to chew his toys and bones, he will chew his bedding, so at the moment his bedding is an old towel. He is still classed as a puppy and needs stimulation but once walked a good toy/bone to chew he is very happy. If off the lead in a park, he won't wander too far but has to say hello to every dog. Which has not been an issue so far as most dogs are off their lead. He is aloof with strangers and takes a while to get to know them, which is part of his breed (guard dog). He needs to go to a home with an experienced dog owner as he is still growing and will need a continuous firm hand and control. He loves a good scratch under the chest. He is very loving and loyal. There are no possessiveness issues over food or bones, I actually brush him while he is having his tea, otherwise he does get a bit excited with being brushed. He eats any food but prefers dry food with a bit of mixer. He has a crate which he uses as his bed, his own space. His crate and bedding (towel) will come with him.
