He has been living off his pen for seven years, without « solde ou pension d’aucun souverain Ă©tranger ». He announces the release of a book, never published, from which he gives an extract from the warning cencerning Buonaparte and continues to praise him, ending his letter by « Quand vous aurez lĂ» cet extrait, vous serez convaincu que personne ne dĂ©sire plus rĂ©ellement votre gloire & votre bonheur que le gĂ©nĂ©ral DuMouriez ».
