The format is Folio It has 23 pages of text and 44 landscape plates on strong paper, each with one or two photogravures. The binding is an original green half cloth portfolio with mounted photo on the front board and glit title on the spine and front board, some shelf ware/traces of use to upper and lower edges of portfolio. Written by Hector Saint Sauveur.With an introduction by R. E. André. The grand and inspiring gardens depicted are mostly in Paris, and Versailles. Seven plates are based on fine drawings (mainly garden design maps). Nice bookplate "Artium Genio" on inner front board verso. One very light stain to upper part of half title (see image). In total a fine, clean copy. Rare in such a good state, usually copies are found with library markings or foxed plates, which in our copy is not the case. Read More
