Rare Vintage Paragon Smiling June Tea Set

Fabulous and rare 80 year old tea set with many pieces that you would not usually find. It is pale green with gilt exteriors and is embossed with a white floral patter and has a pale green interior and floral basket pattern with all pieces having a scalloped gilt edge. This comprises; 2 serving plates, milk jug, sugar bowl, 12 saucers, 12 side plates and 8 cups in total. It is in amazing condition for a tea set of this age, it is almost in mint condition with the exception of a chipped tea cup (see photo with chips in 2 places on the base) and tannin staining on 1 plate. Apart from the that the gilt is still largely visible, no hairline cracks or other defects other than very light / almost non existent use. The tea cups measure 9.5cms across the opening and 6cms high. The saucers measure 13cms across. Side plates just over 17cms across. Serving plates are 25cms across widest point and 22.5 at the narrowest point. Milk jug is 14cms across from outermost part of handle to spout and nearly 9cms at its heighest point. Rare Old Sevres Reproduction Vintage Antique Bone China Tea Set by Samuel Radford, Fenton, England

This is an antique, bone china reproduction Old Sevres tea set by Samuel Radford, Fenton, England. This is a really beautiful and exquisite tea set. There are 9 complete trio sets (tea cup, saucer and side plate) plus an extra 3 saucers and 3 side plates. Originally it would have been a complete set of 12 but I guess some cups got broken along the way. There are also 2 larger serving plates together with a sugar bowl and milk jug. I have taken a picture of the maker's details. This tea set is over 100 years old and would have been made between and . Having thoroughly researched the web I have not come across an identical tea set and so believe that this is quite rare and one of a kind. The condition of this tea set is in overall very good condition for its age. There is some fading of the gilding in places commensurate with its age and there are no hairline cracks I can see anywhere. I can only see 2 very small chips which are not noticeable when the set is placed on the table and I have photographed these but have run out of room to include them. One is on one of the serving plates on its underside edge (about 1mm) and the other is on the underside of the milk jug. The milk jug is the only item that has some mottling due to its age which you can see on the picture and apart from 1-2 with very minor stain at the bottom everything else is in really good order. This set was one of two given to my in-laws as a wedding present in . It is complete with 6 trios, a milk jug, sugar bowl and cake / sandwich plate - 21 pieces in all. Each piece is in very good condition, but if you look very closely there is a little evidence of wear on the gold rims of the tea cups, but then the set is nearly 70 years old!
