He has been dedicated to the textile arts for more than 25 years. When he first began to weave,he worked on rustic looms,built by himself along with other family members. Together they sold their wares at local markets until eventually they were able to acquire modern machinery,which in turn allowed them to develop newer designs. Alpaca wool is considered a luxury fiber because it is as soft as cashmere and has the luster of silk. It is as durable as wool,and the fleece is extraordinarily light and warm. It is reported that alpaca wool is five times warmer than sheep's wool. It is so versatile it is used in the creation of tweeds and fine gabardines. Job lot of wool - 25 Polled Dorset raw fleeces

25 Fleeces of Raw Polled Dorset Wool - Unwashed ? We are a small mixed farm in north Warwickshire with 30 Pedigree breeding Polled Dorset sheep. Now in our 4 year we have learned that the wool they produce is extremely soft and supple which is defined by the British Wool Board as a "fine wool, particularly suited for high class bedding". It has average staple length of 8-10cm and is white in colour once washed. ? As this is raw wool, please expect a small amount of natural vegetation etc, although every effort will be made to remove as mush as we can before shipment. Last season we sold out of wool in 3 weeks which equated to around 100kg of wool. ? We ship using a 2-3 day courier service which is tracked but please allow an extra 2 days handling time.
