Raleigh Olympus racing bike RETRO FIXIE needs TLC

Raleigh Olympus Vintage Kids Racer A very rare old gem. Ideal fixie project. This is older than the hills it has graced and may be worth something as an antique soon. ORIGINAL RALEIGH LOGO/BRANDING. Hasn't been ridden in 30 years I'd guess. Kept indoors since then but showing subtle signs of extreme age...a bit like my Dad! Ideal for someone who is good at doing up bikes (it can still be ridden) or for someone who is particularly looking for a classic old bike. 24" wheels - childrens size or adult 5'2 ish 18" frame with original whitewall tyres and original leather saddle Condition: 5 speed gears badly need servicing - gear shifter is the old type mounted on the bottom tube Brakes work but only just and also need a proper service with new cables A little surface rust in places but all in all the paintwork is really quite good considering its age. The steel pedals are totally rusted though and should be replaced if to be used. Rear mudguard is totally broken and held together by duck tape. Surely this will be abandoned but I've left it there for posterity's sake!:) UPDATE - I worked on the bike this afternoon to see how roadworthy it actually is. I removed the broken rear mudguard (see new photos) and inflated the tyres to give it a spin. Both brakes are functional aswell as the gears and there's nothing wrong with the wheels bar some rust patches. The front tyre seems to be fine but the rear has a slow puncture and may need a new inner tube. Other than that - quite incredibly - THE BIKE ACTUALLY WORKS FINE! This really is a classic old retro bike - circa , I believe. The wheels are totally fine and basically the bike can still be used if the components are properly serviced (a few hours work or £ at a bike shop) and should be quite fun to ride but I think its real value is as a collectable/display/memorabilia item.
