There is some light creasing to a few cards but nothing serious and they are fine to play the game Contents are- 1 Game board 4 Dickens pawns 25 Coins (white No 1) 15 Coins (yellow No 5) 30 Luck cards(fortune & idea) (brown backs) 24 Character cards (red backs) 2 Rules in brief cards Instructions are on inside of box lid. The aim is to be the first person to complete a Dickens novel by ‘writing’ (collecting) six episodes. At the beginning of the game, players choose one of four dickens novels to ‘write’, and sits at the appropriate side of the board where their chosen novel is illustrated. To complete an episode, a player must collect a character card from the novel, and then collect a matching card which has a quotation about that character. By returning to their desks (bases) they then receive a royalty payment and have their first episode completed. To complete the novel, each player must write 6 x episodes. There is some clear tape on sides used to seal box at some time and I have not removed as it may cause surface tearing. Contents are- 1 Plastic Grid with attached playing board (board which is card has some rippling and some staining to 6 squares at bottom, but is fine to play the game) 1 Quick set sand timer 1 Cube tumbler 15 Numbers up cubes. Instruction leaflet (some staining but no problem to read and no tears). The box has light dishing/creasing to lid but is generally very tidy with no taping. While marketed as a board game, the Magic Robot Quiz game is probably more accurately a "curiosity" game. The "game" consists of placing a little robot figurine which holds a pointer in the center of a circular pattern of questions. The robot is rotated to a particular question, and then lifted from the question area and placed in the center of the circular pattern of answers, whereupon the figurine auto-rotates to point to the correct answer. The mechanics of the board simply consist of a magnet in the figurine and two magnets in the board. The question area sets the correct offset on the robot's magnet, and then the robot is allowed to freely rotate in the answer area to provide the corresponding alignment. The game is essentially a trivial pursuit limited to eight sets of 16 questions with a "wow" factor for kids.
