The octagonal stick is straight, perfect camber, superb pernambuco and very good condition, the beautiful original ebony frog is fully hand made and fully silver mounted. Authentic. From late s. Not a copy. It's been rehaired recently by a professional bow restorer. The tip has been re tipped too. It is for professional violin players. It's 29.5 inches, weighs 60.7 gms. I am a violin collector and have for sale a very beautiful antique violin labelled Jacobus Stainer () but almost certainly from the workshop of celebrated 19th century maker Freidrich August Glass (ca.). LOB of 356mm. This is an instrument that stands out in every sense. It is in wonderful condition and has a gorgeous two-piece flamed maple back. The choice of wood is excellent and it is finished in a sumptuous rich hazelnut varnish. As with all violins from this workshop the craftsmanship is of the very best quality. It has very full arching producing a wonderfully big, bold, resonant and yet enchantingly mature sounding instrument that is highly responsive and easy to play. Fitted with Evah Pirazzi strings and professionally set up. Violin labelled Friedrich Kochendorfer c from Stuttgart. Full size violin. LOB 363 mm ("). Instrument in good condition and the soundpost in place. Nicely figured clean one-piece back with only light surface scratching. Clean close grained top with nice colour. Old repaired crack on outer side of lower bout from bottom edge to outside of r/h F hole. One very short fine crack (1"long) to right of tailpiece. No sound post or bass bar cracks. Original Tabil -Stabil chinrest. Good quality set of pegs fitted. New nylon cored strings fitted similar to Dominants Violinhas very attractive sound with very even balance. Good range with sweet upper register and a sonorous G string. An attractive original historic patina. Golden-orange-brown varnish. Ready to play, with a good open mellow sound Back cm) Total length 23.5" (approx. 59.7cm) Condition very good. New set of good quality pegs fitted.
