s style "SQ" series Squier strat, made in Japan. Naturally reliced (road-worn to say the least), but electronics fine, inc. Fender black-back alnico pickups, neck straight and fast, and plenty of life left in frets. All-original, except for tone / volume controls (though pots original), 5-way switch and pickguard, which have been replaced with period-correct parts. Original, replaced parts also included in sale. Fender Stratocaster 50th Anniversary (sticker on back of head stock). Made in Japan . Serial number U. Exceptionally good condition for over 20 year old guitar. Slight fret wear under G string on second fret, but nothing else to mention. Very slight tarnishing to tuner cases and the usual (for a Strat of this age) minor crack in the lacquer where the neck joins the body – this is not structural. Other than that the guitar is in great shape and has no dings or scratches. Soft V maple neck (graduates to a C by the time you reach the octave) which is extremely comfortable to play, with a good action and no buzzing or choking on bends. Original Alnico pickups but I have had the guitar professionally modded to provide seven way switching. The first tone control works only on the bridge pickup and is push/push, the other works on the middle and neck pickups. When down you have the usual five options but when up you have the added option of: 1) Switch to the back = bridge and neck pickup, which gives an almost Telecaster type tone, and 2) Switch in the middle position = all three pickups together, which gives a great tone for rhythm playing. The other positions work the same as when the knob is depressed. No case, so collection preferred; although I do have a strong cardboard box for the guitar, so could pack for shipment if necessary. Beautiful 's Fender Japanese Stratocaster, built in the Fuji-Gen factory between and . Features: - Serial no: A - Maple neck - Gotoh tuners - Tremolo system (arm included) Condition: - This guitar is over 30 years old and naturally has signs of use, wear and ageing/discolouration. There are some knocks, bumps and general buckle rash etc. - Natural age-related discolouration to the white plastic pickup covers and control knobs - Some age-related patination to the metal pieces (strap buttons, jack plate, bridge etc) - Frets all seem to be in good condition. - Pickup selector switch was upgraded to an official Fender USA switch by the previous owner. Pickups and pots are all original. - I believe the guitar would have originally been fitted with a Schaller tremolo and locking nut, but the tremolo has been replaced by what seems to be a Fender USA standard tremolo and saddles ("Fender" stamped) and the locking nut has been removed at some point. The back side of the guitar has the name of a previous owner "Martin Waller" etched into it, which in my opinion adds to the guitar's character and history. Overall, this will make a beautiful guitar for someone. These 's Japanese Fenders are becoming more and more collectable, with values rising year-on-year. The guitar doesn't come with a case. I am selling my Fender Stratocaster Crafted in Japan. The colour is arctic white as far as I can tell. It has a rosewood fret-board which is freshly oiled in the photographs and slightly less glossy now but still a sheen. I believe from the serial number (Q) that this is from the FujiGen factory and made between and . There is very little fret wear and a good set up - according to a better player than me this guitar played better than his.I do not use the whammy bar and the guitar is set up accordingly, but it will be included.
