27" iMac purchased new April GB 16Mhz DDR3 SDRAM 2x8GB Faulty for parts only.

This is an iMac that is cosmetically in very good condition but has suffered a very unusual event. The mains lead was unplugged and accidentally touched the terminals of an external speaker. This caused a spark. The speaker was at that time attached to a powered up amplifier. The audio output from the iMac was connected to the amplifier input. As a consequence the iMac would not startup apart from a 4 second low frequency pulse from the iMac's internal speakers. Apple engineers have never heard of this particular event but upon close inspection found that the logic board would probably need replacing. They could not confirm if any other components were damaged until a new logic board was installed but assumed the power supply was in order. The hard drive has been removed and does not form part of this iMac sale. Included with the sale is a keyboard, mouse and mains lead. The original packing is included and the ancillery items are in excellent condition. This item is for collection but delivery can be arranged at extra cost if required.
