Here we have a fully reburbished vintage / shabby chic style side board / dresser / computer desk. I bought this as a natural pine dresser and fully sanded it back and re stained the worktop in dark oak with hard wearing lacquer. The unit itself is painted in Annie Sloan Old Orche Chalk Paint. I was using it a a computer desk but not its no longer needed. This is a fabulous newly refurbished very chunky heavy solid pine welsh farmhouse dresser that has been hand-made, it is a fantastic quality made item that is in great condition and is extremely heavy. Firstly I have sanded the sideboard top to remove the old lacquer and show off its beautiful solid pine wood grain, I have then sealed this with a diamond hard clear Matt varnish (three coats). This finish is easy to maintain and really shows off the pine wood beautifully. The rest of the dresser I have hand-painted in the specialist Annie Sloan furniture chalk paint, slightly distressed in keeping with the shabby chic character and charm and then sealed again with diamond hard clear Matt varnish. The shade I have used is Chateau Grey (a greyed green in the chalk paint palette) which is a traditional shade found in French furniture and perfect for creating a vintage farmhouse look, please view on-line the Annie Sloan paint palette on the shade. The cupboard doors and drawer fronts I have painted in a contrasting shade of Old Ochre (cream). I have changed the original gold handles to natural solid pine knobs and painted them in chateau Grey. The unit has two shelves on the top dresser for you to display your precious items, there are two drawers and shelving inside the bottom cupboard, so ample storage space. Unlike a lot of pine dressers this is really chunky and is made to last.
