Antique 2 door glazed bookcase/display cabinet with Queen Ann cabriole legs
This is an antique 2 door glazed bookcase / display cabinet with shaped top and cabriole Queen Ann style legs. This is a lovely antique piece, that is full of age charm and character but it is very old so it would benefit from some TLC. We wanted to be restored it to its former glory, but moved house and now there is not enough space for it. This bookcase has been in the family for many generations. Curving dominates all aspects of its design. There are two large dome toped glazed doors. Behind the doors there are three adjustable shelves for storage of many books. The height is 130cm, the width is 110cm and the depth is 28cm. Condition: This is a genuine antique piece of furniture. Historic knocks, marks, cracks, scratches, wear, imperfections, repairs and alterations, as is always the way and to be expected with genuine antique furniture. There are some defects, but it looks good, it is solid, clean and fully usable. There is no woodworm. This is from a smoke and pet free house. Defects: •The left legs plinth has been repaired. It was done quite unprofessionally and the nails were used. However this does not impact on the stability of the bookcase. When there are books, the nails cannot be even seen. •There is an "ancient" crack at the back panel on the right side- pictures show it. • The right door is of a slightly lighter colour than the left door. Please see all pictures. All defects are clearly shown. No hidden surprises. This is from a smoke/pet free home. We are selling it because we have moved to a smaller property. Ad ID:
