Also marked with “Compagnie (Cie) des Bronzes, Bruxelles”.In the first quarter of the 20th century, the company from Brussels made bronze decorations inspired by Italian masters and others from the 15th and 16th centuries; nearly an imitation, but with a contemporary allure. Sold in excellent condition, a 19th Century French Bust of the French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, in greatcoat and hat, looking to the right, with imperial eagle with outstretched wings below, and brass plaque inscribed "Napoleon 1er ", par Colombo, also signed "R Colombo" and dated on right shoulder, with seal "Bronze garanti au titre, Paris " on left shoulder, writing "Pinedo Bronzier Paris" on the left hand side at the rear, on mottled red marble shaped base. Height of bronze: 50 cm, width 29 cm. Very heavy: 19.9 Kg (3 stone, 3 lbs). The bronze bust of Napoleon sits on a hardwood pedestal table which is also included in the sale price.
