Erica Pedretti: In den Texten Erica Pedrettis verlieren die für traditionelle Texte bestimmenden Strukturprinzipien Linearität, Chronologie und Kausalität (der Handlung) an Bedeutung. Die Folge ist eine Irritation mancher LeserInnen, keinesfalls aber eine als chaotisch zu beschreibende Strukturlosigkeit der Texte, wie sie in einigen Kritiken zumindest indirekt angedeutet wird. Vielmehr und dies ist die zentrale These der vorliegenden Arbeit werden die tradierten Text-Organisationsprinzipien durch neue Strukturmuster abgelöst: Kontrapunktische Strukturmuster ermöglichen eine neue Form der Kontinuität in der Diskontinuität der Erzählung, die Räumlichkeit einer real-fiktionalen Landschaft gliedert die Narration anhand von Orten und die Materialität der Sprache bringt unter anderem deren musikalisch-klangliche Qualität zum Tragen. Was auf den ersten Blick an der Kohärenz der Texte Pedrettis zweifeln lässt, erweist sich als eine modischen Reduktionsansätzen entgegenlaufende Erhöhung der strukturellen Komplexität, die letztendlich Elemente moderner Avantgarde-Theorien und postmoderner (Multicodierungs-)Ansätze zwanglos und auf höchstem Niveau zusammenführt. Die Kontrapunktik tritt an die Stelle von Linearität, die Räumlichkeit an die Stelle der chronologischen Abfolge und die Materialität der Sprache an die Stelle der Kausalität der Handlung.
