Epiphone by Gibson Nighthawk ST3 Electric Guitar with
Flame (tiger stripish) veneer top on mahogany body. Made in the Samick/SPG factory in Korea in March . Bought new in as an addition to my collection so apart from checking it out when I bought it (and again today to ensure it still works as it should!) it has either been either hanging in my music room or living in a gig bag. Has never left the house so no gigging. There are no marks, dings or scratches anywhere and apart from a small amount of tarnishing to the gold hardware it is mint/as new. These original Nighthawk guitars are now quite rare especially like this one with coil tapping and tremolo. CASH on collection from Dunstable, Beds (3 miles from junction 11 on M1) or bank transfer (the latter before despatch). Any questions or to view, ring me on or email me. If you need more photos, just ask. Sensible offers given consideration. NO SWAPS THANK YOU Some background info: When the Nighthawk was first introduced in , it represented a departure from Gibson "tradition" with it's 25.5" scale length and it's versatile combination of coil-tappable humbucking and single pickups. The design of the Nighthawk is essentially a combination of an SG (lower bout and thinner body) and a Les Paul (upper bout). Break-through designs don't always catch on right away. Such was the case with many now-iconic guitars including the Flying-V, the Explorer and even the Les Paul. Now, 18 years later, guitarists who originally dismissed the Nighthawk as too "different," now recognize what a great guitar it really was and still is! Great Tonewoods & Premium Construction! The design of the Nighthawk is essentially a combination of an SG (with a lower bout and thinner body) and a Les Paul (upper bout). Like those classic guitars, it features a solid mahogany body (with added "belly" scarf for comfort) and adds a AAA Flame Maple veneer and a bolt on SlimTaper Mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard. The Nighthawk's unique pickup package that includes a slanted Epiphone inspired OBL (bridge), an OBL single-coil (middle) and a mini-humbucker (neck) combined with a 5-way slider and coil tap switch, for 9 different switching options.
