Ex Commercial egg laying hens

Fresh Start for Hens (Melton Mowbray) will have rescue hens available for rehoming on Sat July 22nd. These girls will be 72 weeks old, which is much younger than their natural life span. They're no longer required by the egg production sector so are due for slaughter. We buy them from the egg producers and rehome them into environments where they can live out the rest of their natural lives. Most will continue to lay for many months and will become confident little pets who are happy to be handled (note the pic of one on my lap!) We ask a minimum donation of £2.50 per hen towards organisational running costs. Ad ID:
