In order to get rid of Bert they decided to give him the murder case he stumbled on. Giving him a team of equally uninspired detectives all around him, including himself, expected failure. But he had one lady on his side, she always turned up when the going got tough. That lady was a lady called 'luck'. She woke puzzled, the washing machine was going into pre-wash, it was 2.30 in the morning. Alone in the house she would have to face her fears. From the top of the dark stairwell she could see down into the gloom of the kitchen. A shadow line on the floor moved, was her back door open? Slowly she moved backwards feeling for the stair behind, it creaked, she panicked and ran to the bathroom, her bowel threatening to explode, as she grabbed her phone from the bedside table, on the way, the stair creaked again.....
