Edwardian oak & brass Coal Box (Purdonium) for hearth

Oak and brass coal box c. with original liner and shovel to stand on hearth. Good condition for its age beeds polishing and has a small crack in the front (see photo). Looks as if the hinge has been replaced at some time in its history.

A lovely Edwardian purdonium coal box. The item is in good Antique condition and as such comes with a few dings and marks but nothing you would not expect from a antique piece. The item has three solid brass handles one on each side and one to the front. The box opens and closes as it should and contains the metal inner allowing it to still be usable. The item stand on its original castors all which work as they should. The item will look lovely in the right setting for its original purpose  but can also be used as a sofa side lamp table.
