E-mu Proteus Expandable Command Module with the expansion Pure Phatt 32 MB ROM installed Im selling my Proteus , it has hardly ever been used and it is in very good condition with a few small marks, hopefully you can see this by the photos.The units has all the sounds with the added 32 MB Pure Phatt ROM the Hip-Hop based soundset that produces amazing sounds and grooves from producers from the East, Southeast, and West coasts. Pumping leads and basses, silky pads and those unique hits, scratches and drones go into this sound set. I switched it on a few days ago and I was blown away with the sounds of this thing, they still have a very relevant sound set and the sound fidelity is amazing. I did not realise until I came to sell it but it seems to be a bit of a secret weapon, in the forum at gearslutz they talk about them being an undiscovered gem, they where saying that it has a formidable sound engine hesitating to call it just a "rompler" since it has one the biggest modulation matrices on a digital synth to date. One guy said "After almost 10 years of using two of them, I still impressed how underrated and unknown these beasts are. Maybe the only synth I´ve played that could be as deep or as good sounding than the command station, is the Alesis Andromeda." Specifications: The Proteus is a 4-unit version of the 128-voice rack module with much greater real-time controls and some other new tricks! The Proteus has got over 30 real-time, programmable knobs and buttons. It features the exact same great Proteus 32 MB sound set of ROM samples, and can be expanded up to 128 MB with additional sound cards from E-mu's family of genre based sound modules, keyboards, and desktop groove machines. The sounds it ships with is called the "Composer" soundset, offering sounds that cover the whole spectrum of synthesizer type sounds, from real instruments to bizarre sounds and effects. The Proteus features a built-in 16-track MIDI sequencer, with 16 MIDI channels per track! It offers both linear and pattern based recording, real or step time, analog grid/drum machine style programming and more. Unlike the Proteus , the has 24-bit DAC outputs instead of 16-bit, for enhanced sound quality. The MIDI processors have also been redesigned and are three times more efficient now than on the Proteus ! The has six audio outputs, S/PDIF digital output and a USB port. This is the most powerful Proteus ever, and will likely be E-mu's flagship synthesizer module for quite some time! The Procussion is a Proteus-era drum & percussion MIDI sound module released in . It's a 32 voice multi-timbral sample based synthesizer with 4 MB of 16-bit percussion samples, selected from the Emulator III sound library and stored in ROM. There are hundreds of drums, percussion, mallets, vibes, etc. and they are all fully editable! The sounds vary from acoustic to electronic and many sounds have stereo effects. Sounds can be combined/layered with up to four samples mixed into one drum sound or with any of a selection of digital waveforms stored in ROM. Each instrument also has many individual attributes such as tuning, volume, pan, etc. The sounds are arranged into 128 drum-kits, 64 of which are user-programmable. Each kit can have up to 24 drum samples assigned to it. In each kit, individual sounds can be mapped across the keyboard or set of drum pads. Up to 24 Zones may be assigned per kit.
