We are selling this Dyson DC25 Animal as we replaced it with a Henry recently. The suction etc. is still perfect but the motor became a little noisy at one point so we took it in for a service and 'check up' but they couldn't find anything wrong, after getting it back the ball also became a bit 'clunky', again the vacuum works fine but is just not as smooth as it should be. The basic end attachment for the hose is missing but these can be replaced cheaply. In light of the above I would recommend this be used as a spare vacuum or for work etc. however if these issues don't bother you there's no reason why it can't be used as your main vacuum.
