17hh Hunter/Hack for Sale

17hh, 8yo grey ISH, excellent hack/hunter. Rocky will hack all day in any traffic, snaffle mouthed, not bothered about bikes/buses/lorries and is not a spooky type. He is also an excellent hunter, stands mannerly to be tacked up and mounted, doesn't hot up when you get there, stands at the meet when he's supposed to, jumps what you ask him to, gallops when you want him to, stops when asked (we hunted him in a gag) He is a big horse though so absolutely not suitable for a novice! Would possibly even suit as a hunt masters horse. He will Showjump. However he WILL NOT School in an arena!! He is a hack/hunter really, that is what he enjoys. Up to date with all vaccinations, physio, teeth, shod up front presently, easy with farrier, excellent to load, bath and pretty much do anything with on the ground. He's a real gentleman, manners to die for and will stand and not move a foot all day! He just seems to have had a bad experience in the school 'at some point' and is therefore not suitable as a dressage horse, hence his price otherwise he would have been a fabulous all-rounder. Snowy is a very pretty and sweet Warmblood gelding, will be 15 next year. A real been there, done that, got the t-shirt type. Ridden and hacked out by every member of the family from 11 year olds and kids who have never sat on horses before through to the complete novice 50+ mums who want to come out with the kids! Very safe to hack and not at all spooky. Sharer can do whatever they want with him. He's on part livery so no jobs just groom and ride Monday-Friday with weekend jobs. Ideally looking for someone who has some availability weekdays to be able to hack but can have odd weekend days too. Did dressage to a high level and jumped up to 1.30's but now looking for a quieter life due to an old neck injury. Can also jump (up to 90cm)/ school (with some lateral work and changes within the gaits)/ have lessons but must be able to hack at least once/twice a week! Very very sad sale of my Dutch Warmblood “Buddy” 16.2 Chestnut Gelding out of Oliver x Voltaire Buddy is the perfect allrounder horse, he has done sponsored rides, hunter trials, hunting, dressage, SJ & Unaffiliated eventing. He hacks alone or in company, is good to shoe, clip and travel, does not rear or nap etc. Buddy on his first unaffiliated one day event last year finished on a dressage score winning us second place at Elmwood, he will make a fantastic little eventer for a lightweight adult or experienced teenager moving onto horses, he is a cross country machine, jumps ditches, hedges, water, banks everything he is very forward going in XC and needs to be ridden in a gag or as such with a curb chain however schools at home and hacks in a snaffle, he is the kind of horse that has unlimited amounts of energy I have never reached a point where he has been fatigued hence making him the perfect little eventer, We have regular lessons with Austin O `connor and he advises Buddy is ready to affiliate. I have had Buddy since a 5 year old, I am selling as I need a bigger horse with more bone due to me being tall and quite heavy and i feel that i have always been too big and heavy for buddy hence why I ask for a lightweight competant rider, Buddy is NOT A NOVICE RIDE but he is not a dangerous ride either if you like them forward going then he is the horse for you, he is very sensitive goes off the leg easily he also does have a sensitive mouth but can be very strong in XC. Buddy is great around children and dogs he loads into a trailer but here is his negative point and why i feel he is going for such a competative price… Buddy weaves terribly if left in a stable for long periods of time, he also weaves in the trailer however i have stopped this by putting up a grill in my trailer, Buddy needs to be out as much as possible as for the past 2 years has been living out with no problem he is fine if you bring him in last at night and make sure he is first out in the morning, if you stick to a solid routine for him then you will have no trouble but if you leave him in during the day then he will start. This horse is a very sensitive soul and requires a calm and patient owner to get the best out of him, he doesn’t like change and thrives off of routine if you can offer him this security then he will be the right horse for you, he lives for one 2 one contact with both humans and horses and loves to be groomed, hugged and petted. I am trying to be as open and honest as possible other than that he has manners to die for. Please feel free to PM me any questions you may have please note this is a very hard decision for me to sell this quality horse but I just feel that he would do much better with someone else, I am proud to say i have got him to where he is now, note that potential homes will be vetted and I will not be letting him go to just anyone.
