Dougal is around 16 months old and was saved from the public dog shelter in Romania. He is very small size with short legs. We know nothing about his past, but we think he once had a home as he is very comfortable in his foster home here in Derbyshire. We have realised since he has been here that he can be a little nervous at first around people he doesn't know and can often be rather protective of the people he has formed attachments to. Therefore, if he could find a home with an older person or couple who have experience of rescue dogs, then we feel he would be happier. Dougal likes to cuddle up in his bed or on the sofa next to someone. He is good with other dogs and likes to play with them, but he would also be happy on his own as he likes all the attention. He likes going for walks but can be a little nervous near busy roads or loud noises. Dougal is a happy little dog, and with some basic command training he will make a lovely companion. Followed by a homecheck. Your garden will need to be fully secure with adequate fencing and gates. We do not home to people with children under 12 years old. We prefer to home within a 50 mile radius of DE12. Once this has been done, you are very welcome to meet any of our dogs. All of our dogs are neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, flea and wormed. Adoption fee is £225. You can reserve a dog if you wish for a deposit of £50 which is non refundable. Alternatively, our dogs will remain available for adoption until all checks have been made. Please be sure that everyone in the family is committed to adopting a dog before we carry out a homecheck as we do not have the resources to do this and then be told that people have changed their minds.
