I gave up my horses 4 years ago, and on the off chance, kept back a Dr Cook bitless bridle, a flexible pair of Royal Rider stirrup irons (great it you get stiff ankles when riding?), a pair of half chaps, stirrup leathers and reins, and of course my hat with a couple of covers/silks. They've been taking up space ever since and its time for them to go. THIS auction is for a  Dr Cook bitless bridle in Brown, Beta - synthetic which is a leather look alike, it is a very nice feeling material The full length of the head stall from top hole to top hole is 20.5" approx. and  from the longest hole to longest hole it is 31" approx. Browband 17" approx. The noseband measures 37" approx from one side of the noseband to the other, when on the top holes, and 47.5" approx when on bottom holes. Nose band at its widest is 25", at its narrowest " approx. All straps have room to punch another hole to make larger/smaller but this has not been altered in any way. To fit, the following is taken from the bitless web page - Measure 1½” to 2” (3-5 cm) up from the corner of the horse’s mouth. From that point, measure the circumference of the horse’s nose (noseband measurement).  From that same point (1½” to 2” / 3-5 cm up from the corner of the horse’s mouth), run your tape measure up the side of the face, around the poll (behind the ears) to the same point on the other side of the face (headstall measurement). * Another way of getting the headstall measurement is to measure (from cm up from the corner of the horse’s mouth) to the very top of the poll (to the point right between the ears) and double that measurement. Genuine Dr Cook's Bitless Bridle.  Nylon webbing Washable Black Medium This item was bought in , but has not been used and has been stored in original packaging.  I've included a picture of the original invoice which shows the price was £.  They are now being sold for £ on the Bitless UK website. Dr Robert Cook states "Putting a bit in the mouth of a horse about to work is akin to muzzling a horse about to eat". These bitless bridles have been successfully used to resolve many problems such as sore mouths and tongue injuries but also bucking, rearing and many other phenomena.
