Here is a ring box modelled in the form of a coal scuttle with the handle on the top. The front is decorated with the Reynold's Angels scene, five winged cherub or putti figures. The slanted front opens to reveal a single slot for a ring, the inside is lined in light grey-blue silk. The box is fully hallmarked on the back with the makers mark,design registration number, lion mark for sterling, anchor for Birmingham,and the letter for the year , it is also marked on the inside of the lip with the lion and date letter. The inside of the drop down lid retains its original gilding. The box measures " wide by 1-3/8" deep by 1-3/8" to the top of the handle. "A Vintage Tie Clip in the Form of a Hunting Crop & Horse's Head by Stratton" T his tie clip measures approx. 2.75  inches from the end of the loop to the heel of the handle. It is in very good condition, no damage or wear, no rubbing to the gold plating. It has  a sprung loop on the reverse which clips it in position on the tie. Probably never been off the backing card, which is covered in red flock and held within the original box, which is of white plastic with a cellulose lid. T his vintage good quality and nicely "kitsch" imitation gold tie-clip would make an ideal Christmas stocking-filler for the sporting equestrianist!
