VINTAGE EQUESTRIAN : This pair of brass hames complete with original leather straps are among around twenty items due to be listed over the next couple of weeks, including bits, snaffles, brass hames, iron hames, wooden hames, saddle pads, heavy horse, shires, cartwheels & shafts etc etc. All have recently been inherited from grandparents who ran their own farm from the 's to the late 's. Some of the items were even handed down to them by their own parents and grandparents, and therefore date back to Victorian times. Vintage pair of Horse Hames / Harness   These hames are made of wood possibly oak (but I’m no wood expert) with brass strips down the sides and brass rings attached.   The wood is varnished.   The hames measure roughly 36” in length. The solid wood pieces are in great shape. The wood is approx 2-2.5" wide x 1" thick.   The metal keepers, rings, and brackets have some surface rust, but it only adds rustic charm.   The metal Hames hooks have a Kangaroo stamped in to them. Please see pictures.   The leather straps at the top of the hames are in very good condition and has a brass buckle.   Overall they are good enough to use or if you would prefer they also display well, and would look great hanging inside or outside for décor.   Nice collectors’ piece.   This item can either be collected or you can send your own courier service to collect.   Cash on collection is preferred. Please be aware that this is a used item and so there will be some signs of wear, scuffs and scratches. Due to previous idiots not reading the description properly this item is COLLECTION ONLY. I  am selling this nice old vintage leather horse lead / rein with brass fastenings and metal symbols along the hand strap. It measures 50 inches long. The condition is good; the leather has some wear and the brass needs cleaning, but it's structurally sound and pretty reasonable for the age.
