Details about Horse Hoof Boots
EQUINE FUSION "ULTIMATE" HOOF BOOT - TWO BOOTS In excellent condition. These are the worlds first jogging shoes for horses! These boots are unique in that they have a flexible sole that moves with the horse, aiding normal hoof function as nature intended, keeping the horse as close to the ground, reducing stress on the tendons, aiding balance, stability, reducing concussion, and aiding breakover of the foot thus reducing stress on the foot and ligaments. Ideal for the newly barefoot horse, or a therapy/rehabilitation boot such as for laminitis or navicular type problems and general protection during riding/training over all terrains. Visit the Equine Fusion website for further details and sizing guide. They are also advertised as being nice and forgiving to the horses heels and won't rub unlike some other makes. I read on article from a lady who had used this make of boots on her laminitic horse who had foundered for 24 hours a day for months and only took them off to clean the foot daily and had no problems. They can also take various pads and there is a Equine Fusion dampening pad (these can be bought from many retailers who sell them) or even additional pads such as E V A pads to aid with rehabilitation if required. I bought these for him recently as I've decided he's no longer going to suffer wearing metal shoes that just don't suit him. Unfortunately though this size is just too big, I used the sizing guide on the manufacturer's website and other retailers websites to aid me, and they are generous as they are flexible and would fit a horse with feet up to 15cm wide at the widest part easily, and from the back of the heel bulbs/frog to toe at the centre up to 15.5cm, they would fit a horse with a slightly longer foot than wide and also slightly wider than long too as the boot will 'give' a bit. This make of boot is advertised as being suitable for horses with certain hoof capsule deformities such as often seen in laminitis, or high/contracted heels or under run heels as well as normal feet!! The measurements on their guide states this size is from 14.6cm to 15.5cm in length and measurement is taken from the heel (where a shoe would fit to) or if your horse has a low or under run/low heel to the back of the heel bulb (the entire length of the hoof). My horse has feet approx. 15cm long and 14cm wide in one foot and the other foot is 15cm long and 13.5cm wide, one boot is therefore much too big for his smaller foot and the larger foot is almost right, so these will fit a horse with perhaps similar length but wider feet better, I am rather disappointed that they don't fit him as if they'd been smaller (or his feet wider) they would have been lovely as this style of boot fits so it literally hugs the outside of the foot nicely. These boots are really expensive new, they retail at around £80 each from many online retailers but they are in my opinion just like a running shoe and far better than some with rigid soles which don't flex as a hoof needs to. So second hand in this condition is a good option for someone who would like these hoof boots and wants to save some money. They have hardly been used, and my horse had them on for 5 minutes. The boots can be machine washed and tumble dried on a low heat and I have washed them. They also come in the original boxes. Any questions please ask. Thanks for looking.
