The brilliant all rounder, control without severity, a handy piece of kit.  The Neue Schule Tranz Angled Lozenge Universal Bit offers control without discomfort or severity. It is brilliant for faster work such as jumping etc as you can turn much more easily and it generally eliminates the head toss when asking for a downward transition, or lengthening and shortening in between fences. If you need to upgrade from a snaffle, it is highly recommended as you are staying with a mild mouthpiece but subtly employing other pressure points.  There are four rein options including using a curb strap and/or Pelham roundings.  The Secret of the Salox? is the high thermal conductivity. This basically means that the mouthpiece of the bit warms up to about 30oC within the first few fractions of a second, whilst a stainless steel bit takes over 7 seconds. Again, when the bit moves in the mouth as the rein aids are applied the mouthpiece quickly adjusts to the new temperature. In essence, therefore the rein aids are more definitive because the bit no longer feels like a foreign body in the mouth. This equals a more relaxed acceptance of the bit. Horses that have previously been inwardly fixated on the bit and/or overactive have proven to be attentive and responsive to the aids provided by the Salox bits. Wrong size bought, have used but great condition. Great piece of kit.

This is a Cotswold Sports Tongue Saver universal bit. It is 14.5cm which is 5 3/4". It has been lightly used so has a few marks on the mouthpiece as is us made from soft warm metal similar to Neue Schule and Sprenger bits. It has a lozenge in the centre and arms angled the same as a verbindend bit. Great but of kit, but need a smaller size for my new horse.

I have gained more confidence lately after learning to tie him up to mount, so that stops him walking backwards and the last time he took me towards the hedge I managed to turn him and drag him back through so really pleased with myself. The bit also seems a lot more comfortable for him. Riding out has returned to be enjoyable again and very rewarding so thanks.
